The Coaching Process

MLP Coaching takes a customized approach to every coaching engagement, but always with consideration to these fundamental elements of the process:  setting the foundation, facilitating learning and achieving results.

MLP will work with you in person, online (using web-based meeting software), through e-mail or over the phone, and is guided by the standards and code of ethics of the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Setting the Foundation
MLP first will set the foundation, defining what coaching is and is not and will distinguish between coaching, consulting, psychotherapy and other support professions. We will work out the details of logistics, fees, scheduling, inclusion of others, if appropriate, and determine an agenda appropriate to your needs.

Learning, Action and Results
The coaching process then starts in earnest, beginning with creating awareness:  identifying, for instance, underlying concerns you may have, helping you realize typical and fixed ways of perceiving yourself and the world, distinguishing fact from interpretation, and more.

Enhanced Self-Awareness
MLP will help you discover new dimensions in thought and emotion to strengthen your ability to take action and achieve what is important. It may involve a shift in viewpoint and lead to new possibilities for action.  The process will help identify major strengths and areas for learning and growth. It will also aid in prioritizing what is most important to address during coaching sessions.

Finally, MLP Coaching will help you discover opportunities for ongoing learning in work/life situations, and for taking new actions that will most effectively lead to agreed-upon coaching results.
