New Management Assimilation Process

New Management Assimilation Process (NMAP) is used by companies to get newly appointed managers off to a good start.  It is recommended as a low cost, low risk, potentially high pay-off activity.

The NMAP is designed to facilitate the rapid development of a working relationship between a new executive or manager and his/her staff.  The idea is based on the thesis that the effectiveness of this relationship is based on the degree of shared understanding and knowledge.  This is, in large part, is a function of communication.  The process is thus aimed at promoting immediate, open communication concerning matters relevant to the manager-employee relationship

MLP Coaching employs a well-known and accepted psychological tool known as the Johari Window. Exercises using the tool aid in self-understanding, communication, and interpersonal relationships. They help the individual realize how people share (or fail to share) information and reveals

  • THINGS I KNOW
  • THINGS I DON’T KNOW
  • THINGS YOU KNOW
  • THINGS YOU DON’T KNOW

Taking part in the process enhances the new executive’s or manager’s insight about perceptions and styles of communication and has been shown to significantly improve new management efficiency. In testing over a two-year period with a pilot group, those who participated in this process improved their efficiency by six months over the group that did not, as measured by success in achieving predetermined deliverables.
